The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) received in 2010 the 4th Middle East Customer Care Excellence Award for the institution sector. This is an award presented to public and private institutions by the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute, which is located in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The IPA met the standards and condition set for this award, which reflected the care and support it offered to customers and the high quality services it made available to the public.
The criteria adopted in choosing awardees are several, and they include the approaches followed to opt for the best, the outstanding role in the drive for creativity, and appreciation of the chosen institution for creating an environment that promotes the development and dissemination of service culture and service industry and the introduction of new and successful standards in customer service through the application of the best modern administrative and technological practices. Other criteria are the effort to raise customer satisfaction with the services offered by the institution, and the availability of a performance measurement indicator that helps to develop these services to be compatible with user needs and requirements.
On the occasion, His Excellency Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Shagawi expressed his pride that the IPA had won the award. He said, "We are proud that the IPA has won the 4th Middle East Customer Care Excellence Award for the institution sector. Winning it is a result of the unlimited support extended to the IPA by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Second Deputy Premier, may God protect them all. It is also a result of the interest and care extended by the IPA Board of Directors, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Ibn Ali Al-Fayez, the Minister of Civil Service."
His Excellency Dr. Al-Shagawi affirmed that winning the award amounted to recognition by an objective non-profit party of the high level reached by the IPA, the great reputation it had, and its unceasing efforts to lift its services to a level that guaranteed customer satisfaction. These characteristics, he added, qualified the IPA to be the best Middle Eastern institution in customer care and service. Having competed for the award with several large and deep-rooted public institutions, Dr. Al-Shagawi said, the IPA, by winning the award, demonstrated its distinction and excellence.
The Middle East Excellence Awards Institute (MEEAI), Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, honors public and private leaderships and institutions which play outstanding roles in leading the drive for creativity and excellence through research, field studies within the institutions, and identification of the best modern administrative and creative practices, technological applications, government projects, e-services, economic methodology, modern intellectual and leadership points of reference, and successful standards of customer service. By doing so, the MEEAI contributes to development in these areas under constant changes and severe competitiveness, especially that the world of today only recognizes successful and outstanding models and people who are capable of giving and creativity in accordance with the global standards of quality and competitiveness.
