With the Participation of a Number of Top Government Agency Leaders,
IPA Offers Four Applied Sessions in Riyadh and Jeddah
Earlier this week, the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) offered four 3-day applied sessions in Riyadh and Jeddah, in which a number of top leaders from various government agencies participated.
In Riyadh, the IPA offered a session entitled "Strategic Planning," attended by some top leaders. The session aimed at improving the participants' skills in conceptualizing, designing, and drawing strategic plans in their organizations and supporting these plans with constant strategic behavior. The session had a number of detailed objectives, which included the development of strategic conceptualization and thinking skills, the development of strategic policy drawing skills, and the development of strategic plan design and marketing skills. The session was offered by IPA training faculty members Dr. Mushabab Al-Qahtani and Dr. Ibraheem Al-Milhem.
Another session was offered at IPA headquarters in Riyadh, under the title of "The Will to Change," with the participation of a number of top leaders from the provinces. The session aimed at enabling participants to lead change in their organizations. Detailed objectives of the session included defining of the concept, elements, and areas of change; identifying the reasons and justification of change; diagnosing reasons for change resistance; determining how to deal with change resistance; and implementing strategies for change. The session was offered by IPA training faculty members Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Wazzan and Mr. Turki Al-Otaibi.
A similar applied session on "The Will to Change" was offered at the IPA Women's Branch in Riyadh by IPA training faculty members Ms. Abeer Al-Dairi and Ms. Bahyyah Al-Twaijari.
Meanwhile, the IPA offered a session entitled "Evaluation of the Job Performance of Workers" in Jeddah, with the participation of a number of top leaders. The aim of the session was to introduce, to directors general and holders of equivalent positions, methods and styles of evaluating job performance, identifying the obstacles limiting the effectiveness of evaluation, choosing the ideal method to complete the job performance evaluation process, identifying and utilizing information sources related to performance evaluation, using performance evaluation forms, benefitting from evaluation results, and conducting evaluation interviews for more accurate evaluation. The session was offered by IPA training faculty members Mr. Ahmad Al-Aamoudi and Mr. Muhammad Zwaid.
