Administrative and Organizational Development:
Since the early years of the IPA establishment until 1399H., the re-search activity has been integrated with the consultation activity un-der the supervision of “Research and Consultation Department‘. For this purpose, an administrative unit was established under the name of “Research and Consultation Department” and reported to the IPA Director General. This is found in the IPA jobs formation which was is-sued by the decision of His Highness Chairman of the Board of Direc-tors No. (185) dated 25/08/1384H. According to the IPA organizational structure for the year 1388H., the name of the department was changed to become Research and Consultation Center which was di-rectly linked to the Director General and his deputy. Then, the first name “Research and Consultation Department” was introduced to the organizational chart for the year 1393/1394H. Under the administrative decision No. (910) dated 28/10/1399H., the research activity was sepa-rated from the consultation activity and had a separate department under the name of “Research Center”. In 1402H., the name was changed to “Research Department” that is directly linked to the Depu-ty Director General for Consultation and Research. This post was created at that time. In 1403/1404H., the level of Research Department was upgraded to become a general administration that is directly linked to the Deputy Director General for Research. This administra-tion was divided into two departments, namely: Research Methodolo-gy Department and Research Follow-up Department. According to the IPA organizational structure issued in 1418H., the department name was changed to “Administrative Research and Studies Center” which included five departments, namely: Seminars and Conferences De-partment, Translation Department, Research Methodology Depart-ment, Preparation and Follow-up Department and Administrative Stu-dies Department.
